It's surprising how hard it is to find the basic "Broadcom" chipset drivers for 802.11 B/G wireless PCMCIA cards for download.  Even though Microsoft's model MN-720 card uses this chipset, they do not have the driver available for download.  I prefer the Linksys version of the driver anyway as it has more features.  I remember in the older days of XP (pre SP1) the Linksys version worked, but doesn't seem to anymore YMMV.  When installing the linksys driver on the MN-720 it will say it is the incorrect driver and may cause "instability" problems.  I have been using the linksys drivers for months with no problems... the only thing is you cannot use the Linksys Network Monitor Utility with the Microsoft card, so therefore DO NOT use the included installation tool, instead  use the Device Manager to install them manually with the "Have Disk" option. Your best bet is just to get the proper driver of course.  The Microsoft drivers work very well in Linux using ndiswrapper.  I tested these with Ubuntu Breezy, Dapper, and Edgy but have since dumped the external card for one built into my laptop (Intel Pro Wireless) and don't have to fuss with this anymore.
